Website Design FAQ — Common Questions Answered

How Much Does A Website Cost?

Most sites fit into one of my packages, starting at $2,199+. If you want a smaller set of changes, hourly work might be a better fit. The easiest way to price accurately is a quick call.

Do I Need To Pay For Everything At Once?

No. To start, 50% is required to begin the work, and the remaining 50% is due when the site is finished and ready to launch. I can work with you on a payment schedule if needed.

Are There Any Hidden Fees?

No, fees range from the site creation, hosting, domain name, premium plugins (if needed) and site maintenance. Those will be in the quote.

How Long Does A Typical Website Take?

Most projects take 2–3 weeks, depending on how quickly content and feedback move. If you need something sooner, I can sometimes accommodate rush timelines.

Do You Provide Hosting?

Yes. Hosting is $200/year for fast, secure and reliable hosting, and I can also work with your existing hosting if it’s reliable.

Do You Provide Domain Names?

Yes, I can purchase a domain name (.com, .org, etc.) that fits your business. Domains can be purchased for one year or multiple years. If I purchase the domain for you, the setup is straightforward. If you already have a domain name, I will update the DNS to point to the new site. I will need your registrar credentials to make changes.

Can I Supply My Own Images/Logo?

Yes, of course. I can use whatever you have, but it should be high enough quality to make your company stand out. If it falls short, we can work together to improve it or replace them.

Do You Offer Ongoing Support?

Yes — that’s one of the biggest reasons clients work with me long-term. My maintenance plans keep your site secure, updated, and improving.

Can You Help With SEO?

Yes. I focus on SEO foundations (technical, on-page, and local SEO) and ongoing improvements through maintenance plans or hourly work. The best SEO happens when companies use social media consistently, such as weekly updates. It all links together. In Google’s world, you need a Google Business Profile and reviews from customers. Google wants to see that your business is credible and active and ranks accordingly.

Do I need SEO if I already have a website?

Yes. A website without SEO is like a billboard in the desert—it exists, but very few people will find it. SEO helps your website appear when potential customers search for your products or services. Local SEO is especially important for businesses that rely on customers in their service area.

What does website maintenance actually include?

Website maintenance typically includes software updates, security monitoring, backups, performance optimization, uptime monitoring, broken link checks, and ongoing technical support. Regular maintenance helps keep your website secure, fast, and functioning properly while reducing the risk of downtime or hacking.

How long until I see results from local SEO?

Most businesses begin seeing improvements within 3 to 6 months, although timelines vary based on competition, your current online presence, and the condition of your website. Some changes, such as Google Business Profile optimizations, may show results sooner, while stronger rankings and increased traffic typically build over time.

What’s the difference between website hosting and website maintenance?

Hosting is where your website lives on the internet. Maintenance is the ongoing care that keeps it secure, updated, and performing properly. Think of hosting as the building where your business operates, while maintenance is the cleaning, repairs, and upkeep that keep everything running smoothly.

Do you work with businesses outside of Prescott?

Absolutely. While I am based in Northern Arizona and proudly serve Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, and Dewey-Humboldt areas (for local SEO), I work with businesses throughout Arizona and across the United States. Most website design, maintenance, and SEO services can be provided remotely.

What happens if my website breaks after you build it?

If your website experiences an issue after launch, I am here to help. Clients on a maintenance plan receive priority support and troubleshooting.

Can I update my own website after you build it?

Yes. Your website belongs to you. I build websites that allow business owners to update text, images, blog posts, and other content themselves. If you’d rather focus on running your business, we can also handle updates for you through one of our maintenance plans.

Do You Work With Non-Profits?

Yes. I love working with non-profits. I offer a reduced hourly rate for 501(c)3 non-profits: $75/hour and 10% off packages.
